Dynamic geology of the Columbia Gorge and what to expect in recovery after the fires

Dr. Scott Burns received his MS from Stanford University and his PhD in Geology from the University of Colorado. His research interests include environmental geology, soils, landslides, engineering geology, Quaternary geology, radon, hazard mapping, terroir of wines, and the Missoula Floods. Dr. Burns joined the PSU Geology faculty in 1990, chaired the Geology Department in 2008 and became Professor Emeritus in 2014. Dr. Burns has given multiple talks to the Yale Club and we thank him for his contribution to the intellectual lives of Yale alumni.
