We are delighted to invite you to an evening with Portland Mayor, Ted Wheeler.  We will begin with time for socializing, and then we will hear from Mayor Wheeler about his experience leading Rose City.  The Mayor will speak about his path to public service, and how his experiences at Harvard prepared him to be a leader in public service. A Q&A will follow.

Mayor Ted Wheeler (HKS) is the 53rd Mayor of Portland, Oregon. He was born and raised in Portland and comes from a family with deep roots in Oregon. He has been in public service for more than a decade, having been elected Chair of Multnomah County in 2006. Mayor Wheeler was then appointed to the office of Oregon State Treasurer by Governor Ted Kulongoski in 2010 and elected to the position in 2012. He was first elected Mayor of Portland in 2016. The Mayor graduated from Portland Public Schools’ Lincoln High School, earned an undergraduate degree in economics from Stanford University, and later received an MBA from Columbia University’s business school, as well as a master’s degree in public policy from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.

Harvard alumni can purchase one ticket to attend, and one additional ticket for a guest. Tickets are free for paid members, and $10 each for alumni who do not have a paid membership. Please log into your Harvard alumni account to buy tickets.

The Yale Club of Oregon and Southwest Washington is a partner club for this event and will be offering tickets separately.

If you buy a ticket for a guest, please fill in the first name and last name of your guest in the fields provided.  Their name is required in order for them to attend the event. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.
