You’ve heard it everywhere: college costs are skyrocketing.

True, the cost of a college education has dramatically increased since
we were students. This is particularly accurate in the past decade, with
tuition and room&board showing a 37 percent increase at public
institutions and a 25 percent increase among their private counterparts.

But it’s not all bad news.

*Merit aid* /(scholarships that _do not_ take into account a family’s
income but rather a student’s academic and extracurricular strengths)/
is available at many outstanding colleges. During our program, we will
examine the factors to consider when looking for colleges that will
provide generous support to qualified students, allowing families to
avoid writing that $50,000 check every year.

Additionally, one of the best ways to maximize a student's merit
scholarship potential is to spend time preparing for the SAT. We'll
learn about different test options and trends, too!
