There are almost 3000 Harvard alumni from all the various schools of Harvard in our region. We are an active club with low membership dues that support non-profit activities run by volunteers. Please click here to visit the Membership page to get information on becoming a member.
To suggest an event, to volunteer, or to submit a news article about yourself or another Harvard alum, please email to hucoregon@post.harvard.edu. We are looking for volunteers to organize events.
These are the events we have every year:
(1) Annual Dinner in May
(2) Summer picnic in August
(3) Harvard-Yale Game in November
(4) Borden Beck Scholarship Lunch in December
(5) events related to admissions to Harvard College
In addition, we have hosted other events:
* Portland Youth Philharmonic concert
* John Harvard Birthday party
* piano recital by Harvard alum
* volunteering at a homeless shelter or food bank
* current affairs debate night
* vineyard tours
* visit to art galleries
* bike ride
* events for recent grads
* movie night
* co-sponsored events with one or more clubs from the Ivy League/Stanford/MIT consortium in Portland
Anyone want to organize an event featuring a panel of local writers who are Harvard graduates, or on any other topic?
We are starting a series of lunches where local Harvard graduates will talk about their work or area of experitise. For example an entrepreneur might talk about how s/he successfully started a company, or a founder might talk about their new start-up. If you are interested in speaking or would like to propose a topic, please send an email to ivyleagueplus at gmail dot com. We look forward to hearing from you!
