Michael McCloskey Presents, A Glimpse into History

Harvard University Alumn and former Sierra Club director presents his newest nonfiction book, A Glimpse into History. In this presentation, Michael McCloskey revisits the words of prominent figures in Oregon’s history who called for the conservation of nature in this beautiful green state, proving just how blessed Oregon has been in being shaped by such talented, passionate people. Bio
Earning degrees at Harvard (B.A.) and from the University of Oregon (J.D.), Michael McCloskey led the Sierra Club as executive director and chairman during pivotal phases of enacting framework laws nationally to protect the environment. After a forty-year career with the Sierra Club, he chaired Portland’s Heritage Trees program for eight years. He still lives in Portland and has recently authored the award-winning Conserving Oregon’s Environment: Breakthroughs That Made History and Oregon: A State that Stands Out.
