ABOUT HARVARD FORWARD
Harvard is falling behind in its response to the climate crisis because our governance is not representative of our alumni and student body. We’re changing that. Harvard Forward is a coalition of alumni, students, and faculty aiming to elect recent alumni to the Board of Overseers on a climate platform. Harvard Forward has written an open letter to the Harvard Community, titled, "TIME TO ESTABLISH HARVARD AS A MORAL LEADER IN THE FIGHT AGAINST CLIMATE CHANGE" which you can read here.
Harvard Forward candidates include Portland's own Margaret (Midge) Purce, Harvard 2017. Click here for a list of candidates
Midge is a professional soccer player for the Portland Thorns of the National Women’s Soccer League and has an AB in Psychology from the College. She serves as an advisor on gender equity and youth education initiatives for Coaches Across Continents, a global non-profit that uses soccer as a tool for the advancement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. While at Harvard, Midge led the Varsity Women’s Soccer team to two Ivy championships and became the only person in Ivy League history to win Rookie of the Year and Player of the Year in one season. Off the field, she was part of the Politics of Race and Ethnicity program at the Institute of Politics.
